What are cookies?
Cookies are small, simple text files sent from a website and stored in a user's web browser while he/she is browsing the site. Every time the user loads a page on that website, their browser sends the cookie back to the server in order to communicate previous actions taken by the user.
1. To capture contact form data
Filling in our contact form, in whole or in part, will result in your form entry being saved to your browser in the form of a cookie. This can be useful if you need to check some information on another page of the site or are returning to our site following a previous visit. The information you had entered into the form would be retained and re-inserted into the form upon your return, saving you time.
Cookies being used to store your contact information will expire after 30 days, at which point they will be permanently discarded. Cookies storing information entered into the 'Subject' or 'Message' fields will expire when you close your browser, as it is unlikely that this information will be required for subsequent form submissions.
2. To process contact form data
3. To hide the 'cookie bar' at the bottom of the page
How we use your data
Our servers do not store any of your information at all beyond the scope of an active session while you browse our site. As mentioned previously in the section on cookies, the cookies themselves are stored on your device, not on our servers.
We do not collect any information about your general browsing habits, which sites you've visited previously or which sites you visit after leaving ours. Your data is only ever used by us with direct and exclusive relevance to our website, products and services.
The only instance where your data will be retained by us is if you send us an email using our contact form. For obvious reasons, this will result in us receiving a copy of your form submission via email. Further to this, any emails sent to us where you have selected either "Home PC/Laptop Repair" or "Corporate" from the 'Nature of Enquiry' form field will be automatically forwarded to our ticket logging system, Freshdesk.
After submitting an email in this manner, you will receive an automated response from our logging system. As mentioned already, your data will only be used by us where relevant to products and services we provide to you. This will typically include contacting you regarding any proposed/ongoing work that you have solicited from us.
Information submitted to our ticket logging system is stored securely and access to it is limited to our staff. Aside from contacting you regarding any tickets you may have logged with us, we may, from time to time, use your data for internal reporting in order to improve our products and services.
We maintain a strict policy of confidentiality and we will not share your contact details or session-related data with any third parties, for marketting purposes or for any other reason (except where required to do so by law).
